Popups are how Kovyo captures the merchant-side of email. Click Popups → New popup and pick from a template, or start blank.
1. Choose a template
Six templates ship with Kovyo:
- Welcome 10% off — first-time visitor, time-delay trigger.
- Don’t leave yet — exit-intent, captures the bounce.
- Engaged: read 50% — fires when the visitor scrolls halfway.
- Simple newsletter — email-only, no discount.
- Free shipping above X — announcement, no email capture.
- Blank — start from scratch.
Each template comes pre-styled with your store’s colours and logo (pulled from Branding when you connected Shopify).
2. Configure the trigger
The trigger decides when the popup fires:
- Time delay — N seconds after page load (default 5s).
- Scroll percentage — when the visitor scrolls past N% of the page (default 50%).
- Exit intent — when the cursor moves toward the browser’s close button (desktop only — mobile fires on rapid scroll-up).
- Page load — immediately, on every page. Use sparingly.
3. Edit the content visually
The visual editor IS the popup. Click any block to edit it inline: text, headings, the email field, the CTA button. Drag to reorder. Click the + between blocks to insert a new one.
Multi-step popups split the form across two screens — first email, then optional name/phone, then a success screen with the discount code revealed. Toggle multi-step in the popup settings.
4. Add a coupon (optional)
If you want the popup to give a discount, toggle on Discount coupon in settings. Pick Create new coupon to have Kovyo sync it to Shopify automatically when you save, or Reuse existing to attach a code that already exists in Shopify.
5. Activate
Click Publish. The popup is now live on your storefront — nothing else to do. The first email captured shows up in the Contacts page within seconds.
