What happens when you hit a limit
- Emails: sending pauses until the next billing cycle (or until you upgrade). We never auto-charge overages.
- Contacts: you keep access to existing contacts but can’t capture or import new ones until you upgrade.
- Popups / automations: the second popup or automation creates in draft status — you have to deactivate the existing one to activate the new one, or upgrade to lift the cap.
When to upgrade
A rough rule of thumb:
- 1k–2k emails / month → Starter ($9/mo)
- 5k–10k emails / month → Growth ($29/mo)
- 20k+ emails / month → Scale ($79/mo)
You can switch up or down at any time from Settings → Plan & email packs. Shopify prorates the change automatically.
